AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers, working in partnership with the United Way of Johnson County, distributed 200 flyers to neighborhoods in Iowa City and Coralville today. The Glendale Road neighborhood of Iowa City and the 14th Avenue neighborhood of Coralville were targeted today.

Also, nearly a dozen businesses along Hwy. 6 in Coralville agreed to notify employees of volunteer opportunities or place flyers in store windows or employee break rooms.
On Saturday, July 26, volunteers will be working in the Normandy and Manor Drive neighborhood of Iowa City to remove sandbags from area homes or along the Iowa River.
