This weekend, AmeriCorps and United Way of Johnson County volunteers will again be removing sandbags from several locations throughout Iowa City. Because of the dedication of so many volunteers (including hundreds from within our community), we're excited that our hard work is making a difference. In the Normandy and Manor Drive neighborhood, nearly every sandbag has now been removed.
Those interested in volunteering this weekend should still report to our tent at the corner of Normandy and Manor to check in and receive work assignments. We will be working to remove sandbags from around non-profit organizations on Gilbert Court or the Idyllwild townhouses in Iowa City.
